involves a number of different people in different capacities. It
evolved out of a group of walkers whose love of walking in an island with its
beautiful scenery, rich history and diverse landscapes wanted to share this
treasure and their experience with others. Hence, they decided to construct this
site and offer walking tours to Jersey
The individuals involved in walking Jersey holidays and breaks are all qualified
or skilled in their own area of speciality- be it walking or special interest.
All have vast experience in trekking in other locations in both Europe, Africa
and Peru but live in the island of Jersey. On this page they will each tell you
a little about themselves, so that you can put faces to the names in the holiday
and break outlines.
Kevin Daly
I am the founder of Walking Jersey and guide most of the pure walking and
trekking holidays, sharing with my colleague Vanessa and other tour guides . In
the past I've worked as teacher and then as a lecturer, and originally started
walking in the Brecon Beacons as a way to survive the pressures of work - on my
own, with friends, and then with groups of school children. My training is with
British Hill Walking Leaders. I bring qualified expertise and tremendous
enthusiasm to outdoor education. As an outdoor pursuits teacher and qualified
BCU and RYA Instructor I have vast experience in taking school and college
groups in a variety of activities in both the UK, Europe and Africa.
I have extensive trekking experience in the UK and Europe and have climbed Mount
Kilimanjaro (6 times) and Mount Toukbal in Africa (twice), Mount Elbrus in
Russia, Grande Paridsio in Italy and trekked the glacier at Mont Blanc. I have
also led 6 States of Jersey Overseas Aid projects to Tanzania and Zambia and am
a founder Trustee of the Charity 'Help an African Schoolchild Trust'. The
charity works in Zambia and Tanzania. You can view the work of the charity at
